Today, we’re going to talk about PayPal. Do you love it? Do you hate it?

I must admit, I’ve tried to delete PayPal in the past. But their code is unbreakable!
The Story of PayPal
PayPal was founded by Peter Thiel and his co-founders in 1998, around the time when I was ten years old. So it’s nearly as old as the public, mainstream web. PayPal as a business is defined on Wikipedia as an:

I want to talk about how software can be our friends, and how unicorns and suchlike are apps to help us, not hinder us, in our growth journey.

I’ll give you an example of an app that’s helped me through a health crisis most recently.
It’s called Finch.
It’s a self-care app that you can find on Google Play. You basically own a pet and take care of it every day. Some of you may even remember Tamagotchis and Neopets!

Neopets is still going, incidentally. And it’s big in East Asia!
Anyway, back to Finch.
Finch has a freemium tier, so anyone can download it.
What I love about Finch
Finch gives me motivation, positivity and inspiration every day. You could even say that Finch is one of my best friends!

So what does all this have to do with PayPal?
Well, it’s all software, at the end of the day.
So is Google Gemini (practically my best friend. I know. So sad.). KnowledgeOwl knowledge base software is also amazing (seriously — check them out).
But the sad thing is, these apps are all technically free. And you know we live in a world where the belief is we have to make money.
As a freelance business owner, I have met many platforms in my time. You could say I’ve tried them all.

Well, I have a new objective.
If you want to look at it another way, I think we should persuade more freelancers to use PayPal for their work.
PayPal is genuinely free to use. There are no hidden costs. No fees to use the platform. They operate globally to a large extent.
And you can use it as both a consumer and a business. Your business model doesn’t matter one bit. You can almost buy anything through PayPal — as long as you have the money!

Reasons to use PayPal

Get paid easily with PayPal!
Here are just a few benefits:
- Real money sent to your bank account
- Crypto services available
- Simple and easy to use
Don’t take my word for it. Try it out.

Remember, PayPal is a trustworthy payment method. You can receive money in your bank account, including cryptocurrency options!
So that’s why I freelance directly using PayPal. They’re highly secure, and have never let me down. Any mistake that has been made was always entirely my fault.
Monzo is another digital payment platform (but that’s another post). #fintech
